A pause for reflection.

Below you will find some pearls of wisdom that may give you pause for reflection. I have given credit where credit is due but some of these snippets of wisdom are of unknown origin.

The Wrecker

  1. I watched them tearing a building downA gang of men in a busy town
  2. With a ho-heave-ho and a lusty yellThey swung a beam and the side wall fell.
  3. I asked the foreman,"Are these men skilled,The men you'd hire if you had to build?"
  4. He gave a laugh and said,"no indeed,Just common labor is all I need.
  5. I can easily wreck in a day or twoWhat builders have taken a year to do".
  6. I thought to myself as I went my way,Which of these roles have I tried to play?
  7. Am I a builder who works with care,Measuring life by the rule and square?
  8. Am I shaping my deeds to a well made planand patiently doing the best I can?
  9. Or am I a wrecker, who walks the towncontent with the labor of tearing down?
